Nature of the position: 12 Months (1-Year) Fixed-term
Position description summary:
AYP Ambassadors/Influencers will be deployed across all three modalities (in-school, out-of-school, and biomedical) within each Sub-District. They will collaborate with implementation teams in the field and utilize social media platforms to disseminate program content. Ongoing capacity building for AYP Ambassadors will be provided, along with necessary working tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Mobilizing AYPs in the community and schools for program interventions
– Recruiting AYPs for activities
– Distributing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) material
– Participating in radio/TV interviews
– Sharing program content via social media platforms
– Advocating for the program at youth gatherings and community meetings in partnership with program teams
– Facilitating dialogues
– Attending meetings as requested at various levels (e.g., women’s sector, youth sector, etc.)
– Promoting the use of condoms, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), contraceptives, etc.
– Creating content for social media and instant messaging platforms
– Updating, sharing, and commenting on social media and instant messaging
– Managing social media accounts by developing content on HIV, TB, STIs, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and gender-based violence (GBV) for posting on the local SAYIT Campaign Facebook Page and personal WhatsApp status
– Creating WhatsApp groups of AYPs to share content
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
– Age between 18 and 24 years
– Enrolled in the AYP program and received core services
– Engaged in the AYP program for at least 6 months
– Attended AYP Leadership Bootcamp
– Not currently enrolled in school or employed elsewhere
– Actively involved in the program
– Passed the recruitment assessment (both written and practical)
– Interested in becoming an ambassador/influencer
– Possesses Facebook and WhatsApp accounts or willing to create them
