Faircape Health operates six world-class healthcare facilities situated within luxury retirement villages, providing a comprehensive continuum of care.
We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to join our team at Onrus Manor in Hermanus. As a Caregiver, you will be instrumental in delivering personalized care and support to our residents, adhering to care plans, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a safe environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Personal Care:
– Providing personal hygiene assistance, incontinence care, dressing, feeding, and companionship to assigned residents as per their care plans.
– Documenting all activities on our electronic system, Healthware, using the provided company cellphone.
Administration & Reporting:
– Charting and timestamping all activities on Healthware following company procedures.
– Promptly reporting any changes or concerns in a resident’s condition to the Duty Sister.
Patient Care (according to care plan):
– Diligently following the care plan and documenting activities on Healthware.
– Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for residents in alignment with their care plans and individual diagnoses.
Company Policies & Procedures:
– Adhering to company rules, policies, and procedures.
– Treating all residents with respect and dignity.
Infection Control:
– Complying with company policies and procedures related to infection control.
– Maintaining good personal hygiene as per relevant policies.
Health & Safety:
– Adhering to company health and safety standards during work activities.
– Being aware of duty of care and taking measures to protect vulnerable residents.
– Reporting any health and safety contraventions to the Duty Sister.
Faircape Health is Hiring for a Caregivers
Education and Qualifications:
– Recognized Carer training from a reputable organization is advantageous.
– SETA accreditation will be an advantage.
Experience:
– Proven experience as a Carer or in a similar environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
– Proficient in basic computer knowledge.
– Knowledgeable in caring principles for the aged, including core carer competency skills, dementia care, palliative care, and rehabilitative care.
– Ability to work well within a team and independently, under pressure, and accepting of role changes as needed.
– Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
– Ability to make informed decisions, think objectively, and prevent medico-legal risks.

Specific requirements:
– Clear health, criminal, and credit records.

Working Hours:
– Normal working days are Mondays to Sundays, according to the duty roster.
– You will be required to work 16.25 shifts per month, from 06h30 to 18h30.
