MALARIA SPRAY OPERATOR (400 POSTS)
(2 YEARS 9 MONTHS CONTRACT)
STIPEND: R5 500.00 PER MONTH
Minimum Requirements: Grade 10-12 report/certificate. Age between 24 to 45 years. Preference will be given to the residents of Local Municipality. Applicants who are in child-headed families. (N.B Please provide such proof from local authority, Affidavit and/or Social Worker, Letter from Department of Social Development). The person must be physically fit to conduct Malaria Indoor Rresidual Spraying. The candidate must be able carry malaria spray pump and other related equipments. Female candidates should not be pregnant or breastfeeding due to the fact that Malaria Control is using chemicals for spraying and larviciding. Females will undergo Pregnancy test before and during the duration of the project to ascertain status. The candidate should be prepared to be capacitated extensively.
Duties: To conduct Indoor Residual Spraying of targeted dwelling structures in the identified areas. Conduct re-active (focal) indoor residual spraying. Cleaning of premises where tools are kept and other related activities. Load and off-loads malaria goods. To conduct vector surveillance (Larval and adult collection). Mapping and Larviciding of all water bodies in the community. Reporting of all Sprayed Structures and Larviciding activities conducted. Conducting Malaria Health Education. Counting of structures to be sprayed. Assist in malaria in surveillance activities including case and Foci investigation. Collect thin and thick blood smears. Conduct rapid diagnostic test to symptomatic suspected patients. Complete Active case detection forms for all blood smears and rapid diagnostic tests collected. Collect and count used rapid diagnostic tests at health facilities, conduct health promotion and education in different localities.
