Transnet Freight Seeks to Employ a Driver
Job Purpose: To transport passengers, goods and documents in accordance with road traffic rules and standard operating procedures in order to optimize RNC productivity; Do duties within RNC Contracts and Projects as per RNC expectations and regulations and to perform daily tasks and maintain production under the control of the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCE REQUIRED:
Must have a minimum of grade 10
Be able to read, write and speak English
Must be in possession of
A valid Code 10 (EC1) Driving Licence
PrDP Certificate
Must have 2 years relevant experience
A Driver assessment will be conducted by Fleet and must be passed before appointment
Basic knowledge of Vehicle Care, Road Rules and Regulations to be operated
Must be technical minded
Be able to complete relevant Vehicle Inspections
Be able to repair and maintain the relevant Vehicles, equipment and tools in a good
running condition
Be able to function independently if required.
Be Safety conscious
Must be able to work flexible working hours, regular travel and away from home or Site

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Perform daily checks on vehicle prior to commencement of work in order to ensure the
vehicle is in good condition
Complete daily task sheets, record equipment defects and advise supervisor of defects.
Transportation of equipment and staff to and from site
Collect and deliver goods to site and from suppliers.
Ensure that the fuel levels of equipment are replenished in line with standard operating
procedures
Drive vehicle in accordance with applicable road traffic rules and standard operating
procedures and monitor vehicle performance during use.
Report accidents or incidents which occur during performance of duties
Ensure correct equipment and tools are utilized during performance of duties
