SAPS IS HIRING 43X SECURITY OFFICERS – REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must demonstrate expertise in the essential duties of the position that are unique to it.
possess fluency in at least two of the recognized languages, English being one of them.
A South African citizen is required, as is the absence of any active criminal or departmental cases or prior convictions.
A screening procedure that includes fingerprint verification and security screening will be applied to applicants.
hold a National Certificate (Vocational) or Senior Certificate (Grade 12) that is listed on the National Learner Record Database at NQF level 4.
registering with PSIRA, the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority.
hold a security clearance of at least Grade C or higher; not have been found ineligible to own a firearm.
Be prepared to go through a firearms proficiency course.
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in the essential duties of the position that are unique to it.
Be prepared to keep up your firearms proficiency.
Must not have any outstanding criminal or departmental cases on their record.
A security-related degree or diploma will be advantageous.
Possession of a valid driver’s license for at least a light motor vehicle and relevant courses in the field of the post will be advantageous.
Be prepared to put in long hours and work shifts.

SAPS IS HIRING 43X SECURITY OFFICERS – DUTIES:

Implement access control in accordance with Act No. 53 of 1985, the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act.
Positive identification at the security access point for workers, guests, and contacts.
Employee, visitor, and contractor registration; computerized worker, visitor, and contractor searches.
Permit workers, guests, and contractors to enter the property only after they have complied with all legal requirements.
Verify visits with the hosts and make sure escort follows protocol.
Give visitors entry control cards and get them back.
Maintain the required visitor’s registration.
Before allowing something to be brought onto the property, make sure it is safe and that the suppliers, items, and things are inspected, if needed.
Only from a security perspective, patrol buildings and fenced-off areas.
Guard cars and equipment in the field.
Examine all security tools and infrastructure, and as required, take appropriate action.
Alert senior security officials to any inadequacies or issues pertaining to security-related matters.
